Genie of the Lamp, drawn back in 1993, set a new standard for all future Wally yachts. Stylish minimalism with great performance made this yacht a benchmark for Frers Design.
Being allowed to think outside the existing rating rules was the real advantage.
Everything started with a racing hull, appendages and rig that were already ahead of the game. A flush deck, a large comfortable cockpit, and a coach roof were the next steps.
This modern look was then merged with some classic features that gave the design a feel of timeless beauty, and when the drawings were sent to Luca Bassani, the call was not long in coming: ‘We are building this yacht!’.
